HOW MUCH CBD OIL SHOULD I TAKE?

Editor’s Note: There are four main ways for people to ingest CBD Oil: capsules, vaping, edibles, and tinctures. Keep in mind that the following information applies only to CBD Oil tinctures.

CBD OIL TINCTURES

Tinctures are the liquid form and they are the most popular form of delivery for CBD Oil into the body for medical and therapeutic purposes.

If you are unfamiliar with what tinctures are, they are those bottles of CBD Oil you see in health food stores, gas stations, mall kiosks and everywhere else.

The majority of CBD Oil users apply the tincture under their tongue and hold it there for 60 seconds up to two to three minutes before they swallow the liquid.

By ingesting the tincture under the tongue in this way, the CBD Oil is absorbed directly into the bloodstream and produces results quicker.

WHAT IS THE BEST DOSAGE?

One of the most commonly asked questions first time users of CBD Oil have is what dosage is right for their particular ailment or issue.

When it comes to prescription and over-the counter medicines, the pharmaceutical industry provides recommended dosages for their products based on best practices set forth and regulated by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

But since FDA doesn’t regulate the hemp industry (as of the time of the article, anyways), there is currently no best practices for hemp products that establishes recommended dosages for specific ailments.

Truthfully, there is not an exact dosage that works for every person. Because of the fact that not one person’s physiology is the same as another person’s physiology, the amount of CBD Oil required for a specific ailment will vary from individual to individual.

You will have to experiment through trail and error to find the proper dosage for your particular ailment. Keep in mind that there are many factors that can affect the dosage a person needs to experience positive results for their specific ailment, such as:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Weight
  • Current usage of over-the-counter (OTC) or prescription medications
  • Concentration of CBD Oil
  • Physical tolerance
  • Manufacturing processes

“SO HOW MUCH CBD OIL SHOULD I TAKE”?

Although hemp manufacturing companies are not subject to oversight by the FDA, there are some general guidelines for determining the proper dosage level for you.

Keep in mind that any general guidelines you come across during your online research are not backed by any clinical trials, as of the time of this writing.

If you choose to experiment with any suggested guidelines you come across during your online research and if you have any doubts or concerns, please consult with your doctor first.

If you don’t have a doctor like many people, at least consult with your local pharmacist before you begin your journey.

Bottom Line: Do not take any suggested guidelines you find during your online research, including this article, as medical advice. Since you will have to experiment through trial and error to find the dosage that works for you, be wise and consult with your doctor or pharmacist first.

FINDING THE RIGHT CBD OIL DOSAGE FOR YOU

Most people begin experimenting with the suggested use on the product label. The typical bottle sold on the market is 1 fluid ounce (1 fl oz) or 30 milliliters (30 ml).

Some tinctures suggest you use a half dropper once daily but most product labels and product literature suggest you to take a half a dropper in the morning when you wake up and then take another half a dropper before you go to bed.

Important Note: Even though there are no medical cases of anyone overdosing on high dosage levels of CBD Oil, you would still be wise to consult with a doctor or pharmacist before you implement any dosage strategy to determine the dosage that is right for you.

So what do you do?

First, remember that the following strategy is not medical advice. It is highly recommended you consult with your doctor or pharmacist before carrying out this or any other dosage strategy.

The following is a simple strategy you can use to gradually increase your dosage level until you find your most effective dosage:

1. Start out using the suggested usage on the product label.

2. If you don’t experience positive results after a day or two, increase the morning dosage to three quarters of a dropper and still take a half a dropper in the evening.

3. If you fill the need to increase your dosage again, then at your next increase of dosage a day or two later, take a three quarters a droppers in the morning and in the evening.

4. If you need to increase the dosage yet again, take a full dropper in the morning and three quarters a dropper in the evening.

5. Finally, if you need to increase it again, take a full dropper in the morning and in the evening.

If you end up building to a full dropper in the morning and in the evening and you don’t experience positive results, any number of factors could be playing out.

In the Recommended Resources for Learning section below, I have listed terrific articles for you that discuss methods of determining the right CBD Oil dosage for you.

Important Note: Remember, the more you educate yourself on CBD Oil, the more you will be able to have an intelligent and fruitful conversation with your doctor or pharmacist about the proper CBD Oil dosage that will work for your specific ailment or issue.

BUYERS BEWARE: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

One common reason users do not experience positive results is that the CBD Oil tincture doesn’t contain the amount of CBD that it says it does on the label. Remember, the CBD industry is not federally regulated like the pharmaceutical industry so it really is like the Wild West.

During these early years of the CBD industry going mainstream, when it comes to CBD Oil products, the old buyers beware caveat “you get what you pay for” really applies to all CBD Oil products.

Be especially aware of buying lower-priced CBD Oil products because the odds are high you will truly get what you pay for. A lot of the cheaper-priced tinctures have been shown through third party testing not to actually contain the same amount of pure CBD Oil that is written on their product label.
